Camp letter – Leirikirje

Welcome to the camp!

Did you know that many camps have been held at the legendary Ruostejärvi with scouts from sister cities many times already! This time, the camp will travel far back in history to the 1600s, only to return to the present day and even into the future, without forgetting the ever-so-lovely 1980s in between. Jump on the time travel and back to Ruoste!

Arrival and Departure from the Camp

The camp will be held at the Ruostejärvi outdoor recreation area at Kesäsiirtolantie 71, 31380 Tammela, beside lake Ruostejärvi. Please follow the instructions by your own troop.

At the camp

At the camp, you will be accommodated in tents in sub-camps. Each sub-camp will have scouts from several groups and countries. Meals will be prepared in the sub-camp kitchens in the middle of the forest, and each scout will take turns in cooking and other sub-camp
duties.

There will be a chance to go to the sauna/shower at the camp. Swimming is also possible at designated times. The camp program includes activities from different eras. For all participants (adventurers and older), there will be a hike from Tuesday to Wednesday,
allowing for an excursion outside the camp area. On Thursday, there will be a City Day, exploring the center of Forssa.

There will be a small kiosk at the camp where you can buy candies and snacks. The kiosk accepts cash, bank cards, and MobilePay.

For the City Day program, you can already download the Play Seppo application (free) to your phone. The equipment list asks you to bring a light coloured cotton T-shirt or other fabric as the camp logo will be printed on it. Special note to adults: Do you already have a closet full of T-shirts? Can you use an existing shirt? Maybe you can print the camp logo on an old camp shirt? The environment thanks you :).

There is a quiet time at night at the camp, and rules will be followed, which will be explained in more detail at the camp.
